While the Emerald Isle is certainly home to some fantastic real estate deals, it also has a wide variety of luxurious mansions, both in the country and in the city, for those with more ‘healthy’ budgets. Listed below are the most affluent neighborhoods and property types in all of Ireland.
Dublin
The Dublin metropolitan area is home to many of Ireland’s most costly homes. Some homes in Sandycove, Dublin’s priciest neighborhood, can sell for up to €8 million, making it the city’s most expensive real estate market. Foxrock, Mount Merrion, Monkstown, and Blackrock are some of Dublin’s other affluent neighborhoods where houses often sell for more than €750,000 (£689,000).
Sandycove
South of Dublin’s downtown, in a beach district called Sandycove. The Martello Tower, now the James Joyce Museum, became well-known since James Joyce chose it as the location for the novel’s opening scene in Ulysses. There is a lovely harbor and sandy beaches here that are ideal for kayaking with kids. The Forty Foot, a legendary Irish swimming hole frequented by intrepid souls all year, may be found in this area as well.
Blackrock
Blackrock is a posh neighborhood in south Dublin that boasts sweeping views of Dublin Bay. The area is home to a prestigious private boys’ school and some of the most prestigious addresses in the country. Blackrock Market, a weekend market full of vintage clothing, furniture, jewelry, and antiques, attracts shoppers from all over Dublin and contributes to the area’s distinct bohemian atmosphere.
Cork
If you don’t like Dublin, you might always move to the posh town of Kinsale in County Cork. While entry-level prices in this colorful port town start at about €300,000, larger homes with four or five bedrooms and ocean views can be had for as little as €975,000.
Wicklow county
Located to the south of Dublin, County Wicklow is a stunning location home to the Irish Sea, the Wicklow Mountains, the scenic Wicklow Way, and numerous sprawling estates. Enniskerry is one of the most affluent and beautiful communities in all of Wicklow County.
In addition to being close to the beautiful scenery for which the County is known, this location also boasts wonderful cafes and shops, quaint cottages, and a green in which to relax.
Prices for smaller homes in Enniskerry typically begin at roughly €500,000. More spacious options with a good quantity of land can be found for €875,000, but if you’re searching for something genuinely exceptional, you’ll need to allocate at least €1,000,000 or more.
